we should never forget

The Okinawa tour led by Mr. Shimoji was indeed a very insightful and a fun learning experience. The details about the battle of Okinawa was explained thoroughly yet in a simple manner where in everyone would be able to understand. It was a plus that Mr. Shimoji would bring us to the actual place where the event took place and would also show actual pictures taken by the American soldiers at that time. We went to several caves which were then hideouts for Japanese civilians and some which stood as hospitals for the wounded soldiers. One more thing that was nice about this tour was that the stories shared to us shed light to civilians who played a big role during the battle of okinawa, these people whose efforts are not acknowledged or known to many. These are only few out of the many highlights of this 2 day tour.
As a person who barely has knowledge about topics such as this, I highly recommend this tour, it recalls the hardships and tragedies that happened in this very soil of Okinawa, as well as the continuous fight of both the Japanese and Americans to bring pride and joy to their motherland. Nevertheless , it teaches us a segment in history that we should never forget.
